Hmmm...I never thought of that. Maybe that's why no one has done this yet. LOL

This is Dennis from Top Down Products. We have two versions of a very unique side mount license plate mount called Roto-Plate and Roto-Plate Jr. Each model can be switched from Horizontal to Vertical with a simple twist of the backplate. We offer the mount in Powder Coat Gloss or Flat Black as well as Chrome. The two versions, Roto-Plate and Roto-Plate Jr gives you the option to buy with or without a brake light setup. Check us out at www.TopDownPro.com

Very nice Dennis but a sidemount plate is not what I'm after. Reason being that if I run saddlebags, the plate/brake light will be obscured. Now, if you have a solution for that I'd love to hear it as long as it's not "don't run saddlebags."

Besides, this isn't about how much money can I spend. It's what can I accomplish with my two hands and some ingenuity. To quote another site sponsor "if you can buy it, you can build it better." I'm sure you understand.

Completely, I always enjoy doing my own work too. There is a big sense of accomplishment. I enjoy being able to say to people "yup, I made that with my own two hands brother!" I always say, if you do it yourself, you will end up with a much better result.

But I have to be honest, I control what is designed and sold here at Top Down Products, and if I'm not will to put it on my bikes and parade it around with pride, it's not getting out of these 4 walls! And that's the God's honest truth.

Keep the discussion going, some of the things you are mentioning are very creative and has a lot of merit, like the Saddle Bag Mount! That's an awesome idea! I love it, needs a little refinement, but I love it none the less.

I assume you're a new site sponsor. Welcome aboard.

Check this out: building a taillight bracket. Maybe this may trigger some ideas for late model Wide Glides/Fat bobs.

They make lighted license plate bolts that would work that way.

Yes, fairly new. I've been with the forum for about 5 weeks now.

Thanks for the link, that is some really nice work you are doing. I can see from your thread that you are very capable of custom fabrication. Thanks for sharing, I will continue to watch your progress. Can't wait to see it all done, it's going to look awesome. I really like that light with the integrated turn signals!

Man4Mopar...right now it's sitting as I last photographed it. The last thing I need to do is drill the mounting holes, trim down the 'legs" a bit and then get it onto my bike and wired. I hope the wiring doesn't cause me a headache. I don't like wiring, I'll do it if I have to.

Hey Vic
Wiring it should be a piece of cake, now that I have figured it all out.... Give me a shout if you need any help. Get some Deutsch connectors if you can, you will be glad you did later.
I used an 8 pin and terminated all wires, that way I can always change lights later with a simple plug...
