Default Windvest installed

My Windvest shield finally came in the other day. This thing is a high quality piece and the hardware looks very good as well. Installed it and rode for about 90 miles. Even without fine tuning the adjustment, there is a considerable improvment from the turbulance I was getting from my HD detachable shield.

I got the standard height model in clear. It is hardly noticable installed on the bike.

I highly recomend these.

Ditto the above!!! But seriously i saw one of these on a Big Dog and it looked slick. Definitely the best looking windshield on a bike.

Cee Bailey makes a summer windscreen for Windvests that's only 9" tall. It works great - takes all the wind off your chest while allowing normal airflow to your helmet. Only about $45 or so as well. Might consider looking into one for the summertime. I've had a windvest on my Wide Glide for about a year, and will never take it off. Well made, and it does it's job much better than the Harley Detachable.

+1 on Windvest, had one on my Sportster and a detachable HD on my Bob now. Bought a used buy new Windvest and going to take the HD off and put the Windvest on. What I think is going on here is the Windvest being so thick (5MM) does not flex while the HD does. I also think the cut out around the headlight on the Windvest flows less air, and give less helmet turbulence.

Will let you know for sure when the new Windvest gets here.

The probable reason for less turbulence is that from the pics I've seen, the vest does not change air flow below the shield.

Most of the turbulence from a windshiled actually come from underneath.

I as well have a wind vest on my Fatbob and I have a summer shield made by Cee Bailey's and it works great no buffiting and takes the wind pressure off my chest I think the low profile complements the look of the bike...........
