I remember a few weeks back a member had posted about a site having huge sales. They were selling easy brackets for $75. I didn't have the extra cash or I would have bought a set.

Easy brackets... I put a set on my bob, using the hd quick detach backrest... Had to bend the tangs on the bracket to fit right, b/c the hd mounting studs are not the same size, thus making it fit at a ever so slight angle.

Now i have removed my hd quick detach sissybar and brackets, put the easy bracket mounts right on the strut (removed the strut cover also). Now this put the mounts inline and i had to bend the tangs back to square. They look much better without the hd qd moutning studs... Doesnt nearly stick out so far.

Just food for thought!

I have the BareBacks on mine and really like them. Although they are not for everyone.

Pros - very subtly, bags don't come away from bike too far, look great, price was cheaper (at the time .. dunno about now)

Cons - Not lockable (although 99% of people would not even know they are detachable), I think they only work with Harley OEM bags (but imagine they should work with any that are designed to mount to the HD)

Currently engaged in talks with EA Distributing about the fittability pf the ghost/edge brackets (they say they are exactly the same) on my 03 WG. Seems the brackets may not work with my '03 matching HD bags (in my sig). Top of bag is 12" and they tell me the bracket is like 15" wide. I sent pics with measurements to Joe, but he cannot get to his puter until the owner's kids get done using it to watch a movie....

I was told that Ghost brackets and Easy brackets are really the same thing...identical. I don't know for sure...just what I was told.

Anyway, what keeps them from popping off? Spring loaded?

That was my post. It was http://www.motosport.com, but they have since turned into a dirtbike, atv, and sport bike place. I still got my National Cycle Switchblade windshield at 75% off ($69)...
