This is how I did it on my Fat Boy front. I don't see why it wouldn't work on the Dyna. I just went out in the garage to check. I thought of this all by myself when I was trying to install Progressives and there was no way that I was goin' push that cap on the same way as I have always done my dirt bikes.

Slide the fork tube about half way between the upper and lower tree. Tighten lower tree pinch bolts. Use a 2x4 for leverage against the upper tree. You may need to ajust how far up the top of your tube is for the best contact between cap and 2by.

I posted a picture in my Photo Album.

Got it on last night. Went to the local auto store and got a 35mm socket (1-3/8 would have worked too but they didn't have the one I needed). It was a chore but got it on there.

Thanks bros!

Here's a link to a post in the How-to thread, showing how Mudpuddle solved this minor problem.

I enlisted help when I was doing mine. Had bro #3 hold down-force on the cap thru a large dowel, and I swung a 12" Crescent to get the cap started. Whatever method you choose, don't be a hero; enlist help.

I put mine in the trees and used a socket with a t-shirt piece between the socket and the "bolt" and wrapped the rest around the socket to keep from tearing up my hand when I pressed down.
