front fork cap install
Hi gents,
Got a question that I hope someone can help me with. I tried putting back on the front fork cap but couldn't seem to get it to thread considering the spring is providing a lot of pressure. Does anyone know of a tool I can use or at least a work-around? I do have the bike raised but putting back on those caps has been a real pain in the *%!.

I think I'll take the cap to the local auto store and get a socket. It has been quite a chore pushing that thing down to get it to thread. I thought I was pretty strong but it's making me feel quite inadequate at the moment.
I couldnt get mine started by hand either and it went on with the socket.
Definitely get the tube back into the trees, clamp higher than you would for actual mounting, just tight enough to hold the tube in place. Do whatever you need to do to be sure you don't pull your bike off your stand. And use a socket and an extension long enough to get your hand between the socket and ratchet. Then you'll have something to grip while you use the heel of your hand to apply downward pressure on the socket itself.
