I got my front turn signal relocation kit from HD yesterday. I was reading the directions and I guess I have to disconnect the fuel line from my tank, unbolt it and slide it back to get access to a cover panel where the turn signal connectors are. I've never had that fuel line off. Any tips on removing that and not making a huge mess pouring fuel everywhere? The rest of the mod looks pretty easy to do. I'm hoping to get it done this weekend.
on my buddies sport and my buddies fxdc we didnt have to remove the tank or even loosen it to get enough wires... granted that the sport used the kit and the dyna used the under 50 mod to relocate the wires... are your turn signal wires in the loom with your other wires running to the grips? my buddies dyna they were seprate and that made things 10x easier! good luck!
Thanks for the help. I'm planning to do this this weekend and I'll keep all these ideas in mind. Maybe it won't be too difficult. I'll let everyone know how it works out.
I hesitate to say this because I know how exciting it is to have a new part and can't wait to install it,but some people really don't like the look of the HD kit because of the the way it sticks the turn signal so far out. I'd just hate for you to go to all the work of installing the kit and then not like it and have to change to a different mounting system. There are some pics in the thread above with some of the different mounts that are available including the HD kit.
