Default Super Glide Custom

Hey group, new member here. Been riding for about 40 years now, just got rid of my most recent new bike (a Nightster, looks great parked, didn't like riding it). I've owned lots of different bikes over the years; H-D, Triumph, Honda, Yammy, Kaw.

Started looking at a new Dyna and orginally was interested in the Super Glide. Took a good look at the Custom and I must say I was impressed. Most of my riding will be under 200 miles at a shot but I did like the 2 up saddle, pegs and general look of the bike but.....I'm not big on chrome.

The one I'm looking at is Vivid Black, dig the old school tank badge, but not sure about all that other chrome. It does seem to be a great value for all you get.

So, how is it living with one? Thanks for your replies, Doc.

It's not so bad if you aren't a clean freak. I don't clean it regularly and when I do it cleans up nice enough.

I love mine and enjoy being a rag man to polish the chrome(I know I'm sick). Had mine since Feb. and ride it everyday (5K) when the streets are dry. I keep it clean with detail spray it has never had a bath. Great value for the money if you ask me.

Did the exact same thing as you. Sold my Nightster and bought a 2009 FXDC in Vivid Black. I dream about this bike, love it, check on it before I go to bed. Trust me, you will not be disappointed. plus, you remember how that 1200N handled? Your Custom is leaps and bonds beyond it. Best bike I have owned so far...

Thanks for the speedy replies guys. I'll let you know what I end up doing. I really like the newer FI 96 inch motor w/6speed tranny. The fuel injection is a major advantage in my humble opinion in the altitudes I find myself in here in Colorado.

See ya on the road.

I love mine, bought it in june of 2007 new off the show room floor june 2009 two years later she has 35,000 miles and alot of stories to tell.

I like chrome so i added more and keep her clean. I also added the quick detach sissy bar and a sundowner seat for comfort.

Good riding bike wether it be 200 mile put around for the day or a 500 plus mile day. Runs great and is quick and loves the twisties.

You will love it! Was what I went for at first but the entire northwest was sold out. Best bang for the buck, called a loss leader to get you in the store, then they hope to sell you something more pricey. like me, they did.
No regrets, mine is way cooler and faster.

I've had mine for just over 12 month's, and love it. It goes quick enough for UK road, handles realy well and is economical, petrol over here is £1.09 a ltr (about $2.18). I can do 300 miles + on one tank as long as I dont kick the **** out of it. My best trip was to a little place called Bridlington 500 miles away. Came off nights, put the wife on the back and did the journey all on one tank, ( all motorway), arrived and fell aslep on he beach. Mine is faily stock with the exception of a sundowner and some small cosmetic changes, I'm changing some of the zink bolts to chrome, though I believe an engine should look like an engine with not too much tarting up. In Manchester the weather' prity grim but with the right cleaning solutions I find it only takes about an hour to wash and polish the bike to get her looking good again. Having said that she's in the garage at the moment covered in bugs from my last foray into the countryside.
