Any of the dynas are sweet. My Low Rider is a kick in the a** to ride. Been riding here for 39 years...but I'm different from alot of my dyna brethern here in not being ashamed to recommend the Street Glide to us over 50 guys...unless you really want the speed and agility of the dyna line.
There are a couple of guys on the forum here that ave put street slammers on their FXDC, (Red Devil in particular) and they look fantastic on the Custom. IMO, that's the only way to go wit the FXDC !!
I liked mine from day one....yeah lots of chrome but my son is the detail guy at the local HD so he does my bike here at home to earn him (dad when you gonna give it to me ) points.
Ive changed a lot of little stuff as well as paint.
I traded my 1200C in January and haven't looked back. I love this bike. The OL and my daughter also say it is a lot more comfortable than the sporty. I changed both bikes to a Mustang vintage solo when I bought them so I know it's not the seat. They say it rides alot smoother. I love the smoother ride and didn't give up any of the power or agility.
Welcome, and your correct about the value of the custom. For what you would spend for the superglide, the custom is worth the extra cleaning of the chrome parts.
Had mine for about 19 months, great bike, great value, great ride...
I did have the spoke wheels swapped out with the regular FXD wheels as part of the deal when i bought it.
I don't really like the look of the spokes and they are a lot to clean.
However, while i do love this bike i have found that i just can't get over the street glide, i thought about getting one when i bought the superglide, regreted it ever since.
This will be for sale in about a year to upgrade to a street glide.
My point being, MAKE sure you get what you want, don't base u decision on money or value because you will regret it every day if you do!!!
