Well Dyna-asa...I guess we are the only people in the whole world who has up and down shifted without the clutch.....as you said..i've never had any trouble doing this with any of the jap bikes i've owned..gotta agree with ya
Bill
I use my clutch most of the time, but when I want to go fast I don't, how can people who ride for any amount of time not know that this is TOTALLY NORMAL, if my Harley breaks because of this, it is another sign of poor engineering on the moco
the trans in a M/C and a standard in your average car are not the same thing, some race prepped 4&5 speed are what you would call pro shift, meaning the gears are cut for clutch less shifting. you clearly don't know what your talking about, your posts are not needed
and I haven't owned any thing with 4 wheels in 2 years
I'm not impressed speedracer.....and NO you don't look like Peter Fonda either.
Are ya doin' timed runs down a drag strip in a suped up hog?
Or are you burning up your stock tranny from stop light to stop light in down town burbia?
Perspective brutha! Get some!
I'm not sayin you can't get away with clutchless shifting but in ANY production cruiser... it's not BUILT to work that way... that's why there's a clutch... and no pro shift design in place.
Guys who race and shift like this rebuild their **** after every race practically!
I put 25000 miles on my 06 Shadow and I hardly ever used my clutch on that thing
I put 10000 miles on my 01 cbr600 with no problems
but if this Harley can't take it, I guess I will have to stop
you think the clutch is only for down shifting? never heard that one before. Do you drive a standard car...and how is the tranny on that now?
NO, the clutch is only for stopping and starting, after that if you match the RPMs then you can shift without any damage to your tranny, however; if your RPMs are not right you will damage a lot more than just he tranny.
No matter what you have been tought there is always someone out there that has been tought another way.
keep ridin' the way you are. Sounds like your having fun. The shifting forks will continue to bend. Something will eventually let go. I don't have the budget to repair trannys anymore, so I ride quite a bit easier than I used to. Maybe thats coming with age.

it's called speed shifting, and imo very common when you are ripping it, you don't understand nor have you ever heard of this would lend me to believe that you might be the stereotypical Harley poser that doesn't really know how to ride anyway.

neither of those hondas have over 10ftlbs trq, your harleys got a minimum of 80,its a little rougher on clutchless shifting, wot and just tapping the clutch to shift dosent loose any rpms, doesent trash the tranny.

you're right in the fact that I don't race or speedshift...if I was into that I'd have bought another bike. Stereotypical Harley poser....geee I'm really hurt...sounds like youre just a stereotypical anonymous keyboarder. When I spent the 14000 bucks on this particular bike...it wasn't to play like I'm a racer or tear it the f#ck up pretending to be one. Some of us age out of that young stupidity....and others don't.....
Do you have a rich daddy buying your toys for you?
