Default Seat question

I have a 2003 lowrider and the stovk seat hurts my lower back after about 30 miles I am thinking about having it modified by mean city cycles but I really like the looks of the Mustang solo tripper does anyone have one of these and how are they comfort wise

Everyone says those seats are great.

Also, a lot of back pain can be attributed to the posture and reach while riding. You may want to play with your bars a bit and see if you can find a more comfortable spot.

I wear a back brace every time I ride. It works great and is alot less $ than a new seat.

I had my Street Glide seat modified by MCC before I sold the bike. The bike sat too high and was too wide where the backbone meets the section of the seat - right at the end of the tank. MCC was able to lower me some and replaced the stock foam with a much more comfortable foam. You have to call and schedule a timeslot for your seat - they are that busy. My wait was about a month and a half, but when my timeslot was finally up they had my seat done and shipped the very same day.

I sold my Street Glide and current have an '09 Lowrider. The stock seat and seating position has me too cramped to use the mids for long periods of time - I constantly feel like I need to stretch my legs. I just purchased a Fastback seat from C&C seats, which should be arriving this Friday. It should lower me about 1" and move me back about 1" compared to stock. This seat design may not be for everyone, but I will post a review when I receive it and put some miles in the new saddle.
BtW, I am 5' 6" and weigh 150lbs - not sure if that helps at all.
good luck with your search!
Matt

I can't recall ever having seen a post from anyone dissatisfied with their Mustang seat. I had one on a Honda Aero and I could ride all day with nary a whimper from my backside. The stock Honda seat on the other hand would have me in agony after 50 miles or so.

So far the stock seat on my Low Rider is reasonably comfy but I'll probably put on a Mustang next spring (or sooner).

I've had back surgery with fusions at L4& L5. After 50 miles, I was in so much agony I literaly had to either stand up or stop and get off the bike......The top of my thighs would literally go numb and the pain down the left buttock was like a red hot poker stabbing ya. I'm short, so I cant switch over to a "well padded" seat that would raise me up any higher than 1/2"....or I wouldn't be able to put my feet flat on the ground. Mind you, I have 11" shocks on mine too.

Anyway, I read about the Air Hawk inflatable Seat Cushion for motorcycles. It was developed for people in wheel chairs use to relieve pressure points. Truck drivers also use them. I bought one and so far am very happy with it. I can ride 170+ miles pain free for the first time. I would love to have a Sundowner or Mustang, but dont want to spend $$$$$ only to find I cant put my feet flat, and they wont take it back without a hefty "restocking fee".

Picked mine up on Ebay.....

I AGREE. If you are leaning even an inch forward or back it can strain your back.

I have a Mustang 2 up seat, and I like it. My husband's done over 50,000 miles on his Mustang seat and never complains about it.
