So I help a friend out and buy his 2011 48 with 3300 miles on it. His wife and he are starting a new family so he needed a quick sale.
Today, I took it down the street and back and both the handlebars and seat, excuse my French-suck. The issue is spending dollars on something else for a hope that it will work is the risk. Maybe it does-maybe it doesn't?
So, I would like a set of bars that are slightly higher and more pulled back without having to change the length of the cables, etc.
And the stock seat is just horrendous and for me sits too far forward and when the bike is goosed nearly throws me off the back.
Any and all suggestions, comments etc are welcome. Thanks all in advance...
for the bars you can look around for just some 2" riser that have a little bit of pull back build into them. That is if you like the the width of he stock bars. As far as a seat goes are you riding solo or with a passenger? I mainly ride solo so i have a mustang vintage solo seat that has a detachable passenger seat. Very comfy seat but I'm the market for a different look then whats on there now.

Yes width seems to be good, didnt think of the riser idea which could be a more affordable option. I also see Harley has a reduced reach bar but am not interested in changing out all the cables etc.
You can change out the bars without changing all the cables. Just don't go crazy. You can easily raise them probably 8" or so without changing any cables. I have a set of 10 inch narrow mini apes on mine. I only had to extend the front brake line by about 6 inches. I took off the front brake line and took it down to my local hose shop. They cut off the top rubber section and crimped on a new longer piece for $30 looks like stock. Took them about 20 minutes.
