Default Solo seat suggestions

I'm looking for a solo seat for my 07 night train. I don't want something that is going to put me much farther back than the stock seat. I think the Le Pera bare bones or silhouette look great, but they might move me away from the bars too much.

Any suggestions? Do the Mustang solo seats change your position much? Thanks for the help.

lepera makes a barebones model that actually moves you up closer to the bars. It's called the barebones upfront.

here is a link to see what it looks like:

I have a LePera Barebones... and I like it. It is DEFINATELY not a long haul seat IMHO, but it is a great seat. I can easy do 200 miles on it, but after that I begin to get uncomfortable. I opted for the gel version as well, but often wonder if I would have been better without it. Lot's of guys run these Barebones seats, and most of them are without the gel... and they compliment the comfort of the seat. If you look closely at the pictures of mine & and the previous poster ( rob i ), you will see that mine looks a little "puffy" versus his. That is the gel insert making it do that. Hope this helped you out! Let us know what you decide!

How much does the barebones move you back compared to stock? I'm not sure if I should go with the barebones "up front" or not. I have the stock seat and drag bars now.

Just curious...
By looking at the pictures of the way you're positioned on the rear fender, wouldn't seats like the Barebones actually move you down and forward a bit anyway?

Le Pera says that the bare bones moves you down and back, but they don't say by how much.

09 Night Train

I just sold my solo Mustang
http://s1125.photobucket.com/albums/...Night%20Train/

and went to a solo HD Brawler.

The Mustang solo seat is a high quality,
very comfortable seat.

I change over to the Brawler for looks.
Sitting lower and back a little was a bonus.
So far the comfortable level works for me.

I'm 5-10 with a 30" inseam.

I have a lapera barebones on my 08 night train. I didn't feel a big difference in seat position.

I've got the Mustang Tripper Seat on my bike now (old sig pic) and it left me in about the same position as far a moving me back but I think it moved me up about a half inch or so. In the short rides I've been able to do so far I really like it.
