Being new to HD (2 years-this is my first new one) I was wondering why I rarely hear people say... "I have 40,000 miles or I have 70,000 miles" when reading this forum.
Is this a forum of new bikes or do Dynas self destruct at 50k?
Where do all the old HDs go? Can't say i ever seen one in a junkyard.
Well I think in general people that do alot of miles a year tend to lean more towards a touring model. I have done 13000 in 13 months and that seems to be well above average for most the used bikes I look at.
I am sure there are several here with lots of miles on theres and probally even more in the touring section.
Local Hog Chapter member put 84K on his 1200 Sportster in 27 months. Kept the Sportster and bought a new Softail Custom in April of this year. When we rode around the perimeter of Nebraska the last weekend in May, he already had 5K on the Softail. He's hard core, doesn't slow down for snow , rain or any kind of weather. He lives in Kansas and makes a run to Lincoln, NE almost every day. Goes to most of rallies around the country and just rides his a$$ off. He's in his 60's. He gets the High Mileage award every year in our Hog Chapter.

I'm at 24k and climbing! I've had my bike for 1 year and 9 months now.
But if you go on the General Harley Davidson Chat forum, some guys post on there saying they have 100k+ on there harleys. Some dude said he had 178k on one of his rides.. now that is some hardcore stuff right there!!! He said something about 3 engine rebuilds. I hope my harley gets to 100k without any issues. That'd be amazing.
