dont think i believe it. thats the first time i heard of those problems. If it did happen, it must be a one off I have a bob and its 100% good. maybe the guy weighed 300 pounds and he had a 400 pound wife. Even harleys have their limitations.

I think it would be hard to do, it looks like the weight is evenly distributed between the 2 shock bolts. Would have to be alot pressure to snap. Like going off a jump or something. But just riding down the road, that doesnt sound right.

Heard about it one time on a 02 wide glide at about 1500 miles, The guy pulled in his drive way and it broke, Harley gave him a new one but wanted his old one to do some research on it. I have never heard about it before or since and this would be the last thing I would concern myself with on the new bike.

First off I want to say I love my Street Bob and I would own another in a heart beat. The upper bolt on mine did break about two weeks ago. I have about 1400 miles on it and was driving about 50MPH and heard some rattling when I looked back to see the shock was hanging off the left side. I weigh about 205 and have not hit any major bumps in the road since I have had it. I have babied that bike since day one. My dealer was amazed!. He asked what I hit and I said nothing. If I would have hit something too break that bolt like that I don't think I would have been around anymore. Since they relaced it the bike handles alot better than it did before it broke.

Believe it or not the bolt broke clean off. The stealer had to drill it out!
