But the '10 FXDC will NOT be $12999 OTD, assuming minimal incentives given. That 07 low rider had a lot of goodies on it already if it can be had at a good price.
The lowrider appeals more to my eye than a superglide, though it (superglide) is what brought me into the shop in the first place. Also, I've spoken to a few dealers and it seems (to me) that OTD pricing around here for the 2010 superglide is going to be about 13,500 without to much budging from the dealer at least initially. To me this lowrider is about as good as new, with the low mileage and condition. I guess I don't want to wait until dealers start taking reasonable offers for the 2010 models....that is ofcourse, unless I can't get a deal worked on the lowrider....then I will wait longer
2:30 pm, walk in dealer, start talking to sales rep.
3:30 pm, dealer takes in second trip to sales manager after I give him the 12,250 OTD final offer.
3:45 pm, I tell them I need to go take care of a few things, and they tell me that it looks like we can have a deal....I tell them I'll be back at 6:30
6:40 pm, Finance manager, who has no chance in ever earning my respect gives me the OTD price of 16,300
6:41 pm, Tell said finance manager that I can get a new model for less than that, and as politely as I could asked if in his opinion I looked totally retarded (not so nice words).
6:42 pm, Walk out of said dealer
6:50 pm, Sales guy calls me and explains it was a misunderstanding and that they can do 12,500 plus tax
6:55 pm, Hang up telling sales manager that I'm disappointed in their business practice and that I'm disappointed as I must truly look as stupid as the Finance manager apparently thought me to be.
During last conversation, the sales manager tells me that the bike is costing him 11,800 (paid at trade in plus fixer uppers).....I say bull.......and sigh, as I really wanted the bike.....
Went to the dealer looking for a vivid black super glide, but all have been sold out and the only thing available is a silver one. Talking to the sales person, turns out they have a 2007 low rider that was traded in. Owner traded it in to upgrade to an ultra classic since he now makes a much longer work commute. Bike has rush slip ons, forward controls with upgraded pegs all around, sissy bar, and alarm. Paint is a red sunglo with dark grey pearl....very nice to my eyes. 7200 miles ont he bike.
Needless to say i'm drooling over the bike, but have no research on used pricing and what would be fair. Any feedback on this would be greatly appreciated.
Also, bike was bought at the dealer, and all scheduled maintenance services have been performed and are on record.
Thanks!!
13 grand sounds a little steep to me....12 does too. I bought my '08 lowrider back in February with only 800 miles on it, and paid only 12.5. Don't let the salesman throw the upgrades in your face. The dealership probably didn't a dime extra for them when the previous owner traded that bike in. What's he asking for it? I'd offer $1500 less and take it from there.
