I've been riding my 04 super glide for about a month now and can't get used to the kick stand location. Does anyone else have this problem? It feels like the location is too far back on the frame. Is there any chance I will just get used to it?
It is the same on my Bob feels odd being so far back, makes you look like a newbie looking for the damn thing till you get use to it You will get use to it, most things become second nature with practice. I think you can get some sort of extension to make it easier to locate?
I don't know what the hell happened to my kickstand. lol. Maybe the previous owner bent it or something. You can Not reach it with your foot, I have to pull out with my hand. (Gets a little warm under that primary after a while too!)
I was always able to reach mine fine. I always use my heel and it just seemed to fall right in place. I installed 11" shocks and nothing changed. Then, I installed the Progressive Drop-in Lowering springs and heated the jiffy stand and bent it so the bike wasn't standing straight up. The jiffy stand disappeared under the primary. Had to give it a hand job to get it out. Went to HD dealer and bought an extension and installed it. It slammed into the bottom of the primary. Couldn't leave it that way so I ended up turning the extension over and installed it. It worked. Sticks out like a sore dic. when down, but works.

I lowered mine front and back. Had to get a shorter jiffy stand because my bike was standing straight up on the stock stand. The shorter stand stops just behind the primary. Only problem is that it doesn't have the long loop at the end like the stock one does. Makes it hard to grab with your boot.
I lowered my bike and I did the under $50.00 mod on my kick stand. I ground down the tab that contacts the frame about 5mm. My bike leans just fine and I have no problem finding it. It works perfect IMO.
the first time I stopped just after buying my bike, I thought the damn thing fell off, I had to have my girl friend look under the bike and find it for me LOL. now i have no problems finding it, its something you get accustomed to
