I ve been looking at a Street Glide for a while. Cant get one due to finances though. The street glide will probably be my next bike. My wife rides so we would probably trade in her superglide and keep my Fat Bob. I ve already turn the Fat Bob into a bagger with detachable bags and windshield

I'd rather get a nicer car then the one I have now instead of trading my Street Bob for a bagger.
That way I still have a great motorcycle and a great vehicle with lots of luggage space, lots of passenger room, nice stereo and protection from the weather.

All I have to say is that you guys suck...you're doing nothing more than fanning the flames for my desire to do the same. I thought I was stuck on the Street Glides until I saw Devil Haircut's and les63's Road Kings. Both are beautiful bikes!

Recently I've been looking to add a detachable windshield and bags on my LR, but after seeing these two Road Kings, will I be happy with my "wannabe" Tourer...and I'm really thinking of a Road King over the Street Glide. This sucks!

Decisions, decisions....what to do....
Maybe if you put that chrome inner primary and forward controls on her the 'glide wouldn't look so appealing?
If you give her up, you're going to miss the handling and fun that she brings to you when you ride her! Just a thought.

Believe me, I'm considering everything before I make a decision. I think I'm going to take some test rides when I get home to be sure about what I want to do. I'm also sure that once I get on my bike, these thoughts may pass.

I'd love to have a King .... no doubt it would be more comfortable with a passenger and allow the wife and I to travel easier.

Have you checked out the Corbin faring and hard bags? I know they are really pricey, but you might get a more integrated look that got what you want, but still gave an option to get back to pure Dyna later.

I hadn't looked at them until you mentioned them. A bit pricey for what I want to do, but they look nice.

+1 on adding another bike. Touring bikes and Dyna's are built for two different purposes. Trying to make one into the other is bit like putting lipstick on a pig.

Default well my fxd is still good for me

well lots of guys spend so much time in a Barcalounger waiting for a pretty day while watching nascar they feel more at home on a geezer glide than a dyna glide. They need a tour pack to take home the new Harley swag they buy at the stealership on Sat. morning

Before switching to Harleys last year I had two touring bikes. Really got tired of horsing around these heavy bikes, esp. two up. When my and I were together the combination weighed over 1200 pounds. On the road they are great but around town were a nightmare. The Dyna is a joy to ride, even two up, in comparison. As mentioned, before I would buy another touring bike I would rather purchase a really nice convertable, used vette, new Miata, new Saturn Sky etc. for the same price as a new touring bike. Cool in summer, warm in winter, dry in rain, wind in the hair when you want it and plenty of space for taking a trip. Love riding motorcycles but have done it enough to prefer taking long trips in a car.
