Default Primary plug for dyna with forward controls

I have read most of the posts on converting dyna's to forward controls but I have only seen two ways to plug the hole left from the mid controls shaft...1) use the plug that comes with the HD kit or 2) make your own out of a button head screw. I plan on on installing the accutronix forward controls on my street bob so they wont come with a plug... does anyone know of any companies that make plugs to fill the hole left in the primary or will I have to fabricate my own?

Just so you know...the hole is actually a "tunnel" or enclosed hole.

Whatever you use to plug it does not need to seal as fluid will not leak out. The two sides of the primary push together and make an enclosed hole.

I just pulled the primary cover...cut off the shaft so it didn't stick out and put the cover back on.

I found a chrome plug the size I needed at Lowe's and used silicone to glue it in place...so far, so good!

I knew the hole was a "tunnel" and sealed between the inner and outer primary covers, but I was just wondering if any companies manufactured plugs specifically for that hole before I go the route of making one myself.

You could cut the shaft as Mascman said. Then install a solid inspection cover ( one without a hole ) back on.

And if you have a black engine, a little bit of touch up paint on that chrome plug looks just fine too. I have a tiny bottle of the HD denim black that I use to touch up select screws, caps, & scratches from time to time. I'm sure you could use just about any flat black paint tho for that type of touch up (since that little HD bottle is like $10 or $12 I think)

You can buy one from HD or you can use electrical knock out plug frome Lowes or home depot that can be painted or chrome. You can leave the shaft like the kury units and they have a plastic lock to hold it behind the primary and a chrome cap for it, or you can buy a new primary cover from a wide glide and it wont have a hole. What ever suits you best.

Found the part number off this pdf for the hd forward control kit instructions. https://www.shop.harley-davidson-ros...s/49021-09.pdf they are 6943 for the primary hole cover in black and 740 for the hole plugs for the stock peg mounting location.
