Default forward control install

Alright, Im new to the site, and i love it. I just bought a 2009 FXDC superglide custom and Im beginning to love it more and more with every mod, but I got to have forward controls. Im moving up from two previous sportsters both had forward controls and these mids dont work for me. As of now i have the hd highway pegs on and I have been shifting and braking with my heel. It works but it is not comfortable for my heel. Im looking at the kury forwards and have a couple questions. Is the mid shift linkage secured or does is fasten to the forward linkage then to the trans? If it is secured ( like I think it is) will I see it other than the cover cap on the outer primary?
Any help is appreciated.

If no one answers you, do a search. Plenty of info on the subject there...

I just did a little write up with pictures for mwigfield in another post in the DYNA forums. He has the same bike you have. Check it out and see if it might answer your questions.

The Kury kit comes with a clip to lock the mid shift linkage behind the primary. You won't see anything but the spline cover with the kit unless you look down behind the primary and see the locking clip. Doesn't look out of place or strange at all. I never notice either and I'm kinda funny about such things.
