What if I only put leds on the rear...if I plug the load eq. into the wiring system, does it know where the leds are and will it have anything to do with the the front bulbs?

Ya
I had just rears at first and it worked properly. When I added LED to the front it still worked right.
Only time it didnt work right is when I had the rear LED and only 1 front LED. I was comparing the brightness of the LED vs the bulb and with that 1 regualr bulb in it my blinkers would blink fast.
LED bulbs don't draw as much current so they can not work properly without a equalizer.
They may blink fast or mess with the security system.
Yeah, the LED's pull less current so the turn signal module will think the bulbs are burned out. The fast blinking is the turn signal module's way of telling you that it thinks a bulb is bad. The load equalizer just "eats up" the extra current needed to trick the module into thinking the LED is a normal bulb. The by-product of the eating the extra current is heat...in the cheap ones it's a lot of heat.
On a related note, it always makes me chuckle to read that one of the advantages of LED's is that they draw less power....but you have to install load equalizers to get the power draw back to normal so the lights work correctly. Where's the advantage in that?
