Default Told cannot quiet slip ons
Called a very reputable service department today re: possibility of toning down exhaust sound the V&H slip-ons on my Street Bob. Service tech said that with slip-ons "you get what you get" in essence that they cannot be modulated as a complete system can. This doesn't jive with some of the exhaust topics I've read on the forum or on V&H website itself. What gives?

You have the standard baffles or the quiet ones? You can always build your own to tame it down.

uh? of course you can, baffles are baffles, as long as you can remove 'em, you can change the sound

buy some baffles from Vance and Hines. but why would you want to tone it down anyway. Louder is better IMO...

I just finished installing the quiet baffles in my V&H straightshot slipons and Iam very happy with the results. It seems like the bike has more torque down low and didn't seem to lose anything up top. The quiet baffles are not really that quiet it seems to take the edge off so that cruising around I can still hear but at WOT they still are pretty loud. You can find the baffles on Ebay for around $55 a pair.

They are dumb and need to learn the products the are selling and working with!! Do your own research and don't depend on them! I don't understand how these techs know nothing about the bikes they work on.

Because alot of them ONLY know what they were taught. I've seen it quite a bit actually. It happens in alot of trades, not just mechanics.
