This is my 2nd Harley and my 2nd LePera. I have the silhouette on my WG. It is very low and firm. I find it comfortable. I like the firmness because you are on the saddle not in the saddle and it lets me sit flat footed when stopped. My wife and daughter like it better as a passenger. I do not think I would try an Iron Butt day with it but they change out easy enough if needed.
Nice bikes Duff! I think I have decided to go with the Sorrento. I am trying to decide on biker gel or not. I want comfort the moment I put my my butt in the saddle, but yet comfort for a good morning cruise too. I am awaiting a reply from Lapera on some quesions, but that is the seat I will most likely go with. I will post pics and reviews.
took these pics of the maverick on my bike yesterday. will take better shots when time permits (its raining now) but it gives the vibe for the shape of the seat.
Wow! good looking seat (& bike) billy! Now I am undecided, lol. I thought I would go with the sorrento because it is shaved down a little for a more slender look, but that maverick looks great too! decisions, decisions..... Now did you opt for the biker gel?
no gel. i wanted to try the seat stock. if that didnt work out i could go the gel route.
i know the return policy changes once the seat is considered custom, so i wanted to try just the basic seat first. for me so far its been fine, but due to weather i havent had a chance for a longer ride yet, and my wife is yet to check it out.
i also plan to take a few better pictures that show the angle of the seat against the fender. its sort of an upside down trapezoid, and thats not real clear in the shots i posted here. i can tell you though the seat does have a lower profile than i thought it would. i was actually worried about that when ordering, but once i saw it on the bike, i couldnt be happier.
migraywolf, good luck with the seat, hope it works out for you.
i wanted to post a few more pictures to show the seat since when i was doing searches when making my choice, i didnt see any good photos of the maverick on a dyna.
this shot is a close up to show the angle of the cut of the seat to the fender.
this shows the stitching pattern a little bit better.
