2006 Dyna Reliability?
only done 300 miles on my new dyna, but it runs as sweet as a nut. the more you ride it, the more comfortable it feels.the only down side to the new dyna is that there dont seem to be too many accessories about. i suppose that will change in time.
Here's the "partypooper" (spelling?).
Did 400 metric miles on my 06 FXDCI.
Then the starter went up in smoke.
She's been in the shop now for 3 weeks now. Tranny recall and waiting for a starter from the US.
Besides that I've had some issues with random ignition misses (8 degress injectors?).
I hope to cure this with the SERT.
Otherwise than that. Love my Dyna.
Just dying to get the bike on the rode again.

Little over 7k miles on my 06 WG and no problems. I have not had the neutral problem nor have I had the recall work done yet since I been out of the states since they issued it (not military just work). The bearing deal I was never concerned with, I bought early and had to sign the paper you speak of. They have since stopped that needed service as others have noted above. Im very very pleased with my purchase and more so my experience with the 06 WG.
Happy trails and ride safe.

I have had few problems with my 06 WG. The 15,000 bearing issue is over. My bike will not need to be checked having received a letter from the MOCO some months ago.
I kept my stock 8 degree injectors. I had no problems and saw no reason to change to the 25 degree injectors. Remember the same amount of fuel is delivered with either injector. All newer WG will come with the 25 degree injectors.
Fuel economy is great. I average anywhere between 40-45 miles/gallon.
The transmission, clutch, and other modifications on the 06 Dynas make them a technologically advanced bike.
I decided to disable the 02 sensors and use a PC IIIusb for ECM tuning. I am happy with my Dyno run and performance.
I don't think you can go wrong with a WG. I don't know what the 07's will look like, but I suspect there will be little change over the 06's.

Will this bearing need to be replaced every 15k, or is it more a check-up on a new design?
Has Harley just come out with a new one and or a permanent fix?
Lastly, will a SE 6 speed fit on a dyna to just fix the darn problem, or do you think the new 07s if they are fixed will have a fitable trans for ours?

The transmission on the 06 Dyna is ok just don't put syn 3 in it. Stay with 75/90 gear lube.
little over 8k on a 06 fxdi no real probs.be prepared to buy rear rubber bout 5k miles tho soft compound tire it is.Dont know how much more thinner hd can get the tins tho grrr compared to a bike 10 yrs ago its definately thinner and I thought damm compared to a bike that was 10 yrs previous to that ggrrr.plastic batt tray to grrr.harness is glued underneath fender.guess some of the things like that is why the dyna has only gone up 2k over 10 yrs.Far as reliability time will tell if its as good as motor as the evo was?Do like the FI .6th gear is great for the interstate .was it really needed tho?But great marketing ploy I guess.
I usually fill up with BP 93, or Sunoco 94. Cleveland, Ohio Market. I may try Shell premium this summer on one of my rides to Florida. I will let you know what I get going through the mountains.
The improvements made to the '06 Dyna line (auto primary and cam chain tensioners, upgrading oil sump system,) along with the hydraulic valve lifters effectively make the Dyna one of the lowest - if not THE lowest, maintenance bikes on the market. That said, I'd like to see a hydraulic clutch added to minimize the need for clutch adjustments.
I'm waiting to see what's announced for '07 and more than likely, I'll be back on a Dyna.

That sir, is a load of crap.
If a honda or kawasaki could not get 100,000+ miles by desighn, those companies would not sell them.
A dyna is a fine ride, but it is certainly NOT, the lowest maintenace bike on the market. Nor is anything made by HD capable of claiming such a title.
My 97 road king has 138000 miles right now. Has had one top end rebuild, and two seperate head/cam changes. For a harley, thats not bad. Besides, I love it.
But I will not pretend it is more reliable then my buddy's VTX. He has 141000 and has done nothing but put gas in it and change the oil.
You see, it's supposed to rack up those miles. The hd is supposed to look cool and sit in the garage most of the time. Mine doesn't, so I have to work on it sometimes.
