This subject came up a few years ago. One thought that seemed to make sense was the poster had just changed his pipes. They were shorter then the stock pipes and ended just before the rear footpegs. It turned out that was where she was getting the vibration from.
Hey B, That is kinda what I expected to hear when I brought this up here. I have a service manual, and I'm sure that it won't hurt, but I don't have any problem myself. Do you notice much vibration or is it just her? Thanks for the help.
Yes, I was feeling a bit of a vibration as well but only at certain rpms, the alignment seems to have taken care of it. My wife hasn't gone for a ride since so have to wait and see if it helps the vibration she was getting.
That is a good thought, I can't seem to get any info out of her. So you don't think much of the pegs on the swingarm being a factor? I thought I would have her lift her feet off the pegs the next time we ride. But the more I think about it I bet it is the helmet. You would think she would be able to realize that.
Had my wife on the back on my 08 Street Bob. First time, she said the vibrations were from the rider pegs. I have Kurakyn Iso's so there is a lot of rubber on them. She said around town no problem but it would be a no go for a long highway ride. If her helmet is vibrating, do you have a long sissy bary that she is leaning against perhaps?
Yep I do have a tall sissy bar and short pipes. I'm going to have to try to get some info out of her this weekend. Thanks a lot you have all been a big help.
It did keep me from telling she was full of crap and suck it up.
I had the medium sissy bar (supposedly the only one that fits the fat bob) and with the stock exhaust the vibration was there. Now with the side shots and mini rail sissy bar it's the same.
