Default Turn signal relocation

Just ordered some ez brackets for my '03 wide glide....how difficult is it to relocate the turn sigs to the rear hole when there is a luggage rack already there? Is it just a matter of specific hardware to get extra lenght? If there is a link to a thread that is already on this forum that explains it it would be appreciated if someone could point me in the right direction.

thanks in advace.

I think you have to move them from struts.

Kenneth,
IMO you have to move the rear turn signals to the tail light area.

Found this info here:

http://www.leatherconnexion.com/Easy...-P207C143.aspx

Easy Bracket - HD Dynas 1996 to 2005
Turn Signal Relocation:: Rear turn signals must be relocated off the fender rail to the tail light area.
Other Notes:: For 2005 and EARLIER Dyna models only.
More Info: Detailed information about Easy Brackets, how they're made & photos can be found on the Easy Bracket FAQ page (http://www.leatherconnexion.com/Easy...Q-W44C324.aspx)

I mounted the EZ brackets TSDNALD-02. According the mounting instructions it's "for use with EASY BRACKETS quick detach saddlebag brackets ALL DYNA MODELS". I only had to take off the plugs from the wiring and re-route the electrical wires as indicated in the mounting instructions and the instruction video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkgOpvBdKfA)

Here's how it looks on my bike (Annual Army Staff Bike Tour, 4 days, 2500km, June 11/14-2009 Germany/France):

This is the bracket set I bought

http://www.classiccruiser.com/webapp...286&ts=catalog

The issue is this....with the bobtail fender there isn't a place to use one of those bars that go around the tail light to mount the turns. Fitment people say it is supposed to go on the rear hole (pionting to it here)

You can see that the luggage rack slips over that back brace portion and is then bolted into it. Is there a way to remove that bolt and use the attatchment for the turn sigs through all of that or do I have to find a whole new spot?

It's been a while since I went through all of this, but I believe the stock turn sigs used 2 mounting holes - 1 for the bolt and 1 for the wiring. To move them to the rear hole, you would need the relocation kit that comes with hollow mounting bolts.

Another problem with using the stock sigs in the rear hole - clearance for the bags. I'm sure guys here didn't have a problem, but I got smaller (cheaper) sigs that I mounted to the rear strut hole with almost zero stand-off.

I didn't keep those sigs long as I wanted the quick detachable sissy bar after installing my new tins. Welcome to another set of problems as the hardware uses the rear bolt hole in the struts. But the kit comes with the relocation (hollow) mounting bolts. I have them if you want them, because I didn't use them.

I ended all of the headaches by moving the sigs to the license plate with these brackets.

Another option for ya is this combo light.

That's the light/sig combo I had on my WG until I failed state inspection. Some BS about the sigs needing to be 9" apart. This light combo is for sale, but won't work with the stock backing plate. This is how I had it set up.
