Default New Wide Glide missing nuts on rear head pipe...
I noticed a change in sound today and upon closer inspection, found this:



Called the dealer and they gave me a new gasket and a couple of nuts. I guess they never made it on at the factory.

Take a look at yours....

Didn't have the bike with me... was there picking up a bunch of other stuff....

HD has to get that quality control thing down...these things cost too much not to.

In your photo, the stud is missing too (there's nothing to put a nut onto). Did it come without both the stud and the nut?

The question still stands "Why didn't they fix it?" That's what the pre-delivery inspection (PDI) is about. Look on your sales receipt,bet you paid a couple hundred for that. What else is wrong? No oil in tranny, maybe the primary was never filled. Get my point.

Yea I get your point for sure... i already told them when I was there that its coming in for a full inspection. There is no reason this should have been overlooked. It was about to go into the shop anyway because I thought it was running like crap. Well surprise - once i secured the damn head pipe it started running great.

Rdondes: The studs aren't missing, i just didn't capture them in the picture. You can tell a nut was never tightened down on there though. No sign of one whatsoever.

I think the bike is telling you that it wants some new pipes!

I know one thing, if it were mine they would have been at my house picking it up!
That said, you got yourself a bad *** ride!
