Did they say why they don't? When I added the wide tire kit and used a 240 metzler it really dropped the back end down too much, had to go to longer shock to put road clearence back to about stock, so wondering if that is why. If so can be corrected and should not be a reason not to use them as long as someone is aware it will change the ride height.
The faq on the metzler site only said it could cause handling problems. I thought I could get my bike a little lower with the low profile tires. HD always tell you everything you change will cause problems, but all the changes so far have only helped.
I am going to add the 11" Progressive 412's soon. This will put the fender further down on the tire and probably lower the frame close to 1 inch. I like the idea of a lower profile tire and figure it would only help handling.
thanks for the input. the sport sets real high i have already changed the seat and shocks, but i am still not where i want to be. I think the tires will do it, can't afford to trade.

This is a Michelin low profile fitted on a Streetbob, the bike handles and rides OK. This is the same tyre fitted to the Buels. Tire manufactures and dealers will only recommend original tire sizes. If the speed rating is right then you won't have a problem.
The front I lowered by sliding the the tubes up through the tripple tree. The tire is standard size, you can get a low 19" but you require a wider rim.
