I think Patrick is correct, Street bike is a class between sport and cruiser, although I wouldn't put the dyna (especially the wide glide) in that class, Just my opinion.
Thanx for the input folks. I ain't offended by the term "street bike," just curious that's all. I love my Low Ryder and it's a keeper no matter what anybody else calls it. As far as usage goes, I ride it like a "street bike," "someting between a sport bike and a cruiser:" around town general purpose run about, transportation to work, two lane blacktop as often as I can manage. Mama comes along when the spirit moves her; which is becoming more frequently.
That's true, but there are subclasses such as sport bikes and cruisers. I just never hear the term street bike used as a subclass of "Street Bikes." Seems all to confusing[sm=helpout.gif]
I thought a street bike was one that was legally registered, insured, and street worthy. I considered my roadking a street bike, my wife's Lowrider and Heritage are street bikes, and my EG Classic is a street bike.
As far as the Dyna's go, I consider them worthly touring bikes when properly equipped. Especially if you tour one up. My wife put over 46,000 miles on one that included extended trips to Laughlin, Sturgis, and Milwaulkee.
Seems to me that some people get too carried away with labels.
