Before you go blindly shaving an eighth of an inch off the calipers, you really ought to center the calipers on the rotors and make the measurements yourself. I sure would hate to take information I got off the internet as fact and find out I destroyed a couple of calipers in the process.
All I'm saying is make sure you're right before you go off half cocked.
Sounds like a great thing to do... looking forward to your pics. Also, keep a list of the parts you used, and their part numbers... as well as any ancillary parts you had to get to finish the job out. That would be a huge help to folks who may want to follow what you've done.

Got my Forks assembled last night with the FXDF lowers. I'll start my mock up after work today. I've read a few places on the web that .125" needs to be milled from the calipers at the mounting pads, is this right?
In case you missed my other post, I have a 06 Superglide, I'm doing a dual disc conversion with 08 Fatbob fork lowers, 06 Roadking master cylinder & wheel calipers and a 08 NightRod front wheel, with Russell braided lines.
I can mill the calipers here at work before I go home, I just want to make sure .125" is right.
Cool, keep a part lists and post some pictures. Thanks.
Hi
I am looking to do the dual disc conversion on my 09 sglide.
The deck height of the 2 rotors in relation to each other seems to be an issue depending on the sliders you use, and also the wheel.
Can you measure the distance between the 2 rotors now that they are mounted on the wheel? That would be valuable info. This would allow me to compare their position between the forks in relation to my current and other set-ups, as I was wanting to use a 2.5 harley cast whel of some description(if it can be proven to have the correct rotor mounting "deck height")
How did you front guard fit up? I know that the guard mounts on the fatbob forks are at 1.5 inch centres, versus 1 inch on sglide, but what I am wondering is whether the width is still correct to fit between the mounts, and whether or not the guard is at the correct height over the tyre if you line up the top mount hole, and only redrill the bottom hole?
Thanks for any help
