Default Laced Wheel Maintenance

I'm thinking about either a 2010 Fat Bob or a 2010 Wide Glide.

How much maintenance do the laced wheels on the WG require?

I've had mine for almost 2 years now, just go over em once in a while and make sure they are all tight, and keep em clean. only drawback is if you have a flat you are stuck.

I think cleaning laced wheels is a pain in the ***. And my experience has been that if you do not stay on top of it they get rust spots.

Hmm, Tightening the spokes with out an indicator to check run out, one could easily pull the rim cockeyed. Plus cleaning laced wheels can be a big job! I love my mag wheels!

Crest spinbrush, some luster lace polishing laces

PITA to clean, but love the look of the wheels.

That is why I had my rear wheel powder coated. When the front tire wears out I will have that wheel powder coated as well.

Do the laced wheels required a tire with a tube?
