Hmm, Tightening the spokes with out an indicator to check run out, one could easily pull the rim cockeyed. Plus cleaning laced wheels can be a big job! I love my mag wheels!
I make my own run out indicator by placing a zip tie on the fork lowers and have the tail next to the rim. between this and tightening every 4th spoke for a rotation then the next set of every 4th then keep moving through the sets of spokes and my wheels stay true while tightening up the spokes again.
I tighten and true my spokes every few months just to be safe. If they are starting to get too loose you can start to hear a creaking sound coming from them... scary...
Whatever you do, DO NOT JUST TIGHTEN THE LOOSE SPOKES. It's a fast way to a out of round and out of true wheel.
If your wheel is out of true or round I usually recommend taking it to someone that has experience with this but if you want to do it your self get a truing stand, pull the wheel and deflate the tire. The trick is to remember think about what direction tightening or loosening the spoke will pull the rim. It's a bit of a practice thing though.
It sucks to mainatain (about an hour a wheel) and if your not on top of it, they are most likely going to rust. Unless you buy reel stainless steel ones(factory stock are just chromed)
First tire change, I put "low rider" mags on along with tubeless tires and don't regret NOT
having to clean each spoke when i wash it. Gives me more time to ride!

i don't tighten them, just check with hands while washing
