So I am finally getting around to putting a new set of pipes on my bike. They are samson big guns and I am wondering if it really is as easy as unbolting the stock ones and bolting on the new. Can anyone who has put pipes on their bike (from the header) give me any tips? Thanks!
All good tips above! It took me about 4 rides followed by torquing to get mine seated. For the initial tightening, torque all four to about half the specified torque requirement, then torque all four to spec. Use a stick of incense to check for leaks.

Great tip with the incense,
I was smoking a cigar so i tried using that. Come to think about it, it's been a month with my exhause. I should check the bolts again
Sorry for the hijack, but does anyone know the torque specs of the head bolts for the '09 Super Glide? (I'm saving up for a service manual, but would sure like these specs at the moment). Thanks.

Here are the torque and sequence for an '07. Should be the same for the '09:
1. Install lower nut and tighten finger tight
2. Install upper nut and tighten to 9-18 in-lbs(1-2 Nm)
3. Tighten lower nut to 60-80 in-lbs (6.8-9.0 Nm)
4. Tighten upper nut to 60-80 in-lbs (6.8-9.0 Nm)
Then after riding a few miles I would double check them again.
