Need info on shift rod nut size

Default Need info on shift rod nut size
I want to replace my std shifter rod with the heim joint kind but I don't know what size bolt (thread size) I need to attach it to the sifter lever on the transmission as well as on the forward controls. Does anyone know?

I bought a Harley rod and it came with bolts and a nut. They're 5/16-24.

The one I'm looking at is a NOS Indian (Gilroy) rod. Since the stock rod on the Indians had heim joints and nuts and bolts, the replacement rods did not come with them.

Ah, I see. The threaded rods are nice nice for fine adjustment. +/- 1 spline didn't work for me.
