i have done the search, but no one has relocated there speedo anywhere other than the risers. do u guys know of anyone with a dyna that has TOTALLY relocated there speedo. maybe rocker boxes or something like that?
I spoke to one of my good friends about your situation last night. Assuming that the odometer is receiving a 1/10 mile pulse signal is should be really easy to make an simple display that would keep track of your mileage. Then the display should be able to be mounted under your seat.
man! that would be great! could u keep me posted. i was also looking at maybe doing a little mini speedo. just dont know where the hell to put the thing.
i have some 6" risers a buddy gave me and i found a nice pair of Z bars i am gonna mount up this winter. also going to take all of my switches off the bars and really clean them up! that speedo gone would make it that much better.
My father had a FXD and I was doing the same research. I came across one thread that had a mini speedo moved down by the ECU box cover. Near the fuel tank, sure you can to move your leg and look down but it it was his way of getting it off the bars.
I personally thought it was kinda lame and pointless. I'd much rather do what was mentioned above and just keep a ODO somewhere hidden and guess at speed. *shrug*
The other method did not remove it, but was cost effective and looked a TON better. Using a chrome housing off a 883-1200C sportster it moved the speedo down below the bar line and chromed it out making it flow a bit better. Then, using a 1/4 fairing it looked really good actually.
Sorry, but the other options are not cheap and involve buying a new tank..

Loner .... you should just machine up a nice rocker box mount that will accept the stock speedometer and trouble lights!!
i like the ones that are reversed below the bars, but with the 6" risers and no fairing, i still think it would look odd. i am leaning towards what loner is talking about. good stuff so far, anymore out there?
