I have a 2009 street bob, i recently was installing the passenger foot pegs for my bike which replaces the belt guard bracket and bolts the belt guard right up to the peg.........my dumb *** actually stripped the front bolt, (so my question to the more experienced riders) is the belt guard really all that necessary or should i get to working on getting that suborn screw off of the belt guard??????? what are your guy's input on belt guards?????
a lot of guys one here ride without belt guards, its a pretty common mod, that said, I do have guards on mine and don't have any first had experience without them
I run without it. However, if you plan to take a passenger make sure they either wear tight clothing and have NOTHING that can get in there. I personally would run it if I was going to stick someone back there.

Thats kinda what i was worried about since my old lady is getting ready to ride with me pretty soon dont want her to have to by new jeans everytime she rides with me.........but i do love that look with out the belt guard that you got going on there, that looks f****ing bad ***!!!!!!!!
+1 with the belt guard removed. I personally like the clean look. I ride two up and haven't had any problems yet. Sounds like a pretty easy fix if safety is a concern though by drilling a larger hole as suggested.
The only thing about running with a belt gaurd make sure you put it on before you take it in because it will void you warranty if you care. Otherwise run without it if you like it!!

Maybe if you were taking it in for a belt failure!!!!
The dealer cannot deny warranty unless they can prove the mod was the cause of it. It is a federal law.
