Thermal coating my exhaust black
I have SEII slip on mufflers and am having both the mufflers and the heat shields thermal coated black. I sure hope they turn out well. I've seen some other bikes that have had their pipes done this way. They seem to be a dark sort of grayish color and the finish is flat. I was really hoping for the darker more semi-gloss look found on OEM black pipes. When I mentioned to the guy who does the work that I wanted them as dark as possible and with a slight gloss, he looked at me like I was nuts and said the process is either flat black or flat gray and that's it. I hope they look good. Maybe they'll be dark enough to achieve the look I want because they'll be against the silver of my motor and I'm stressing for nothing. I'll post pics after I get my bike back. Thanks for listening.
