Default My New Bob Is Looking For Upgrades

Hello everyone... brand new Harley owner and just purchased an '06 Denim Black Street Bob. This is my second bike having just come off of a Honda Shadow. WOW is all I can say and I've only ridden it home from the dealer.

In any case, I got some Screamin' Eagle pipes put on today and going back on Tuesday to get the forward controls installed as it is real cramped for me right now. I am looking for a few accessories that I didn't see in at the HD shop but noticed some of them in photos of yours bikes.

1) Side mounted license place bracket

2) A tall old school sissy bar (not the kind for a passenger)

3) The kind of seat "16over" has (https://www.hdforums.com/m_505790/tm.htm)

4) Detachable saddle bags... my turn signals seem to be in the way. Do they need to be relocated as there seems to be only one area to bold on to. I really hate saddle bags but since this is also my daily commuter I'm kind of at a loss for ideas.

I guess that is it for now. The break in period is going to be a hard one to do as I really just want to open him up and see what he can do. Turning with those mini apes is going to take some used to though I think.

Thanks for the help and I'll post a photo or two once there is something other than the stock setup to see.

That list will grow...and grow...and just when you think you're all done, it'll grow again!

Have fun with it and enjoy!

Congrats on the new scoot sin. You will love her/him.

It's not really so much "Turning the mini apes", push down on the grips.

Congrats on the new scoot. The first thing you need to do is get it painted imedeately!!!! Black denim is a horrible, horrible color. I hear it drives hot chicks running and causes children to throw up. Also, without glossy paint your fuel mileage will be terrible. Do yourself a favor and go running as fast as the breakin speed limitation will let you to your local body shop and get paint done.

Congrats on the new ride. Drag Specialties carries just about every sissy bar that is mass produced. Here is a link for you..

Awww... that hurts.
They had a vivid black model there as well but it is the black denim that I saw and fell in love with first. Hopefully I made the right decision.

Thanks for the link JamieWG... I'll head on over there and check them out.

It's not really so much "Turning the mini apes", push down on the grips.
Oh yeah, I get how it works as I have been riding almost a year now. It is just a completely different riding position from my previous bike and leaning just feels a bit odd at this moment (just got it yesterday). I think all that will change once I can stretch out a bit after the forward controls are installed. I practically lived on my highway pegs on shadow even if I was just crusing around the city.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!
