Shocks on Bob are a little lower. As for the question that started this thread, I say get the Bob. I don't mind offering my honest opinion here since that is what the guy asked for. Personally, I agree with mcurry5 on the silver finish, there just ain't enough contrast between chrome and that silver coat for my taste. Why not forget the Bob and the SupGlideCustom and just get the lowrider, then you can tell everybody here to go to hell. Not that you would.
I don't think anyone disputed the fact that the shocks are shorter. The previous post that I was responding to said the forks are shorter..which I don't think is the case...I'm almost certain of that. Once again..this could be considered a "functional" difference...and once again, this is something that can easily be changed...and is changed quite frequently by many riders.
I guess we can accessorise bikes to suite our needs, but as I said, I see the pillion capability is a functional difference, not just cosmetic. Same with the apes. They aren't non-functioning items like a battery cover.
Probably enough babble and hyper-rant about all this though. Have a look at a superglide and a bob next to each other frm front on. You'l see the difference (And I'm sure Elvis was ridn' one of them).
So I would say to harrymattu, you will need to buy extras to carry passengers if you rally want the Bob.
Oh yeah, and Elvis told me to tell you to buy the Custom, (he's a chrome fan).
Gotta get whats best for YOU. The Bobs are nice but it seems like everybody else has one to . The question is do YOU want to be a Bober or a Super. For me well nevermind...
Here's some other differences between the FXDCI and the FXDB. All of them are trivial really, interesting though.
Apologies for the formatting - the first figure is the FXDCI, the second is the FXDB.

I thought the bob had a 19 inch front tire. Is this accurate?
