Question Question on mileage

I took a trip on my bike to Atlantic City a couple of weeks ago. I filled up the tank completely and zeroed out the trip odometer just before leaving. The round trip was ~140 miles. When I got back I filled up again and the tank too around 3.4 gallons of fuel. Mathematically that works out to about 41 mpg. Does that sound right for mostly highway riding? I have the 5.2 gallon tank (I believe that the reserve is 1.1 gallons). That would put me at just over 200 miles per fill-up on the highway. I only have stage one and drag pipes done to the performance (carbed not injected). Again....does that sound about where it should be?

Thanks in advance

41 seems fair, some get more some less,it depends on load, temp., wind, slope, air density, humidity, altitude, and of course amount of twist on the throttle.

Cool.....was just wondering where it landed as far as other bikes go. I know that there are much larger engines out there with much more performance upgrades than what I have (88 ci). Looking to see what other were getting out of thier bikes.

I usually ride 2-up and get between 38-42 mpg.

Did almost exactly the same ride in June and got 42, so you're in the ballpark. Lots of variables, like weight, wind, etc. but it's 10 mpg better than I was getting before a remap.

The absolute BEST I ever get on road trips is 42mpg. City, 30-33mpg. I'm happy with those #'s.

Do the FI models get better mileage than the carbs?
