Got a Windshield for the colder weather - PICs
I rode in last night so i got to test the shield out. My work week starts Sunday nights...nice part is that it ends Friday at 7 AM.
The low beam was actually so low that I had to look through the shield to see light, which was too distorted to be safe...looking over the shield, it was too dark, so rode with the high beams on the whole way.
Turns out, the light was a little loose and when I put the shield on, I must have bumped it down. I actually took the time to align the beam according to the manual and I'm sure it will be much better tonight.
The shield could be a little lower. If I decide to make it lower, I think I'll trim the shield above the light so i can slide it down more.
I get the typical wind from beneath, but my average speed to work is 50 and it's not bad. I tested it out and up to 70 it is good...over that and it starts to buffet more than I care to deal with.
It was 60° last night and also this morning and it was a comfortable ride...nose was a little cold, but I think a scarf will take care of that. If I wrap it loosely around my chin, it will block the wind coming up and doesn't usually fog up my riding glasses.
I wear a beanie helmet and Panoptix glasses, but if I wanted to ride into really cold temps, I could wear my half helmet with mask.
All-in-all, I like the looks of this shield and it works well for me...still enough wind to feel like you're riding a bike but makes it more comfortable in cold temps.
