It's getting colder here in PA, and since I work midnight shift, I never get the "good" ride home like the other shifts do...always cold and dark for me.
I picked up a HD detachable Sporty shield off Ebay.
Took a 45 minute ride today and it I like it. It is right on the verge of being too tall for me. I have it as close to my light as possible...it's not a stock light.
I may cut an inch off, but as long as I don't slouch, it would be fine the way it is.
I put a windscreen on my SB and gotten to the point that, I hate to ride without it. Too much wind, turning the helmet into a "parachute". Wind pulls the helmet back, almost to the point of choking me with the chin strap. Long rides are much more enjoyable not being beat up by the wind.
Won't be trading any time soon JakeInMa...too far in the hole with it to get out right now! I guarantee that I could not get anywhere near a deal that you got from any dealer around here.
Philly is a bit far from me Danktat...be cool if there was a rally that we could arrange to meet some members of the forum at.
Thanks bikerlaw. I was never anti-windshield as my other bike had one, but I really do like riding without one. With the cold and damp weather we are getting now, it's not even fun to ride for me so hopefully I can get a couple more rides in this way.
I bought one of the HD quick detachable shields a couple of years ago and throw it on when it starts getting cold (ie. in the 40's). Between the shield and the heated gloves I can ride all winter here in NY.
