Buying a dyna - questions
You can make any model fit you regardless of height or leg length. This is a good shot of my superglide custom
Yep, did a deal on a Dyna Glide Low Rider - but not the red year 2000 one in the earlier shots. I went to look at that one today and a) it turned out to be not quite as nice in the shots as it was in the "flesh". Someone had put some crazy aftermarket Harley tank badges on there and the tank looked a bit scratched in places. b) It has LOTS of chrome, not really my bag I'm afraid, I like a bit of chrome but this thing was blinding in the sunlight! Chrome overkill!
I'd seen a Dyna Low advertised on Friday, it was in a Harley dealership a fair way from where I live, so after looking at the red one today I decided to drive over there. It had caught my eye because it's a very late 2004 reg (like 11th December) bike with only 54 miles on the clock. It looks like someone's bought it and just left it parked up in a garage, there are a few scuffs in places where things have obviously been dropped on it - but nothing too serious that a few hours fettling won't sort. We wheeled it out of the showroom and started it up - Man, it sounded sweet (Screaming Eagles fitted) - motor is still tight as a drum & no wear on the tyres or pegs etc! As a choice of used Harley this is a no brainer! Comfort seat and cissy as well. The sales guy did me a great deal as I had no part exchange for him to have to bother with.
It's going through the workshop this week for all the oils to be changed, a complete checkover and a valet. It's also getting one years road tax and 12 months of our British MOT test certificate. They're even giong to deliver it to my house because its a fair few miles away! Only hope the bike's as good as the dealer service!

Yeah, they're horrible aren't they (I'm assuming you mean the number plate?) I think our government think we're all myopic & brainless. Typically British though, anything with a government design brief is without exception totally lacking in any kind of flair or good taste!
We do have quite severe fines for messing about with our plates, i.e different fonts or illegal spacing of letters. They do seem to go more for bikers than they do for car drivers though.
On most of my bikes I usually have an 8" x 6" plate made up, the legal size is 9" x 7". It's just small enough not to look too obtrusive, but big enough so that at first glance the busies (police) don't notice it's illegal. Most of us here would love some nice looking plates like you guys in the U.S and Canada have
