Default Show Your New Paint

Hey guys, the '06 Super Glide i just bought has paint that's in less than perfect condition (not terrible, just not very good). I'm considering painting it myself with one of my buddies that's done some real good work. Any ideas for the new ink? I think I want something really dark but not black, and I like the shield like what's on the Rockers. Post your cool paint jobs here!

I know you said painting it yourself, but if I knew about these guys I would not have paid for my Grim Reaper paint job from HD. Yea my bikes is numbered, but these guys paint some sick stuff for more then half the price I paid through HD.

I did mine myself...........I say go for it!!!! I went with a blue from a Toyota Camery and it turned out pretty good for a garage slop job. One word of advice is get to know the gun before you do the stuff you want to look good. Don't ask me how I know.

Those are some sick lookin paint jobs. I'm glad you sent me the link, but I'm pretty excited to do this on my own! I'm definitely open to new ideas on what to do though.

Here's mine. I had it done after my bike fell off my Harbor Freight jack (no straps, DAMN). I wanted it to look mostly stock, and the painter took it from there. I couldn't be more happy with the way it turned out.

I went a different route. I watched e-bay for a long time and won this paint set for $405 plus shipping.

I'm a big fan of try it yourself paint jobs. They are one of those things that impress the hell out of me. Flashy high end jobs are nice to look at, but when an OWNER grinds into his own bike, thats adds alot of personal flavor that a shop paint job will always lack. I painted my Shovel earlier this year. I'm not very good by pro standards, but it came out as good as I expected.

I painted my 06 lowrider in my garage last winter. i picked up some old tins on ebay, chopped em down a bit, did the body work then paint. i had a blast doing it myself and take a lot of pride in how they came out. i say go for it.
