OK let me start out by saying flat black is my favorite color. The only thing I don't like about my "black denim" Street Bob is that it needs more black.I want some kind of black exhaust system and so far these are the only options.#1 I could buy a set of black slip-ons from Cycleshack and strip and paint my heat shields and maybe the head pipes, cheap and will probably look pretty good when I'm done.#2 I can buy the Thunderheader in black, all the mechs and Harley tweakers I've talked to say it makes good HP but it's kinda pricy and I don't like the way it looks. #3 I can buy another system I like like the Bassani Pro Street or thier header and have it coated by a third party.Any Sugestions? What kind of HP difference are we talking about between the slip-on and a header?
just buy the thunderheader. who cares what it looks like.......if you care about performance then the thunderheader is the way to go. At first I was like, "I don't want one of those ugly things", but then after I heard one and rode on a bike with one then I was sold. Trust me, you won't regret it. I've had TONS of comments on my bike with it. Most say it just looks and sounds plain sick......
The 2 into 1 systems will make the best/most power hands down..........
Thanks Fripple I was just thinking maybe it wouldn't look too bad with a set of gulp, chrome cycle shack slip-ons.Hell no! Black thunderheader it is.Unless I see something I like better in the next couple of days.I guess the fact that it's been recomended by the last three out of three Harley mechanics I've talked to should tell me something. Now for that black air cleaner, I will not just paint the stock chrome footbal black.Any ideas?

Black Air Cleaner cover. This one started out as a Nostalgia cover. I painted it with a rattle can wrinkle black.
Of course to use a round cover like this one you need the Stage 1 air cleaner setup which your going to want anyway with whatever pipes you end up with.
I bought a wrinkle black football for mine. Mine is currently in the shop right now, but I'll see if I have any recent pics of it. My mechanic and tons of others have complemented me on my thunderheader saying it is the best pipe hands down. My mechanics comment is usually, "they should melt down all other pipes and make thunderheaders out of them".....haha.....
