I just installed the 49mm short boots from J&P. took about 20 min. Disconnect brake caliper, loosen 4 pinch bolts, lift the bike, slide fork tubes out (you don't have to remove wheel or fender) slide fork boots on, slide forks back in, lower bike, torque pinch bolts, enjoy new bad *** look!

Never had a Bob, but I would. Did it on the Dark Princess and The Countess.

I don't have a lift so I was thinking about doing the same thing. No problems?

I found some 'Eazy-On Fork Boots' but they're like $100...not happening.

The gaitors were only $19, so if I screwed it up, I wasn't out a lot of money. The only issue I had with the Triumph's were sliding the bottom of the boot over the lowers. You have to glue the seams back before you do it...otherwise you'll have a big split at the bottom. Think I just used some super glue I got from autozone...
