Default Fuel Line Broke

the fuel line cracked near the connection to the fuel tank while I was out riding. Lucky for me I was near a PepBoys and bought some hose and clamps to fix it until I got home. Since I own an 06 street Bob, does anyone know if the newly installed hose will damage the engine until I can take it down to the HD Dealer?

wow thats weird, I havent heard of that ever happening. Have you done any mods to the bike ?
It is a stable line, I dont think there is a lot of movement there. I wonder if it was cause by the vibrations ???

Weird, be interesting to see what Harley says.

I do the turn signal relocation kit, but I followed the fuel tank removal procedures in the service manual all was good with no problems. But that was over a week ago and I have been riding every day since then, without any problems

hmmm, maybe something went funky when you removed the fuel tank, because I have never heard of them just going bad this soon. Did you clean your bike with alcohol based solution ? I am just brainstorming as to what may have caused it. Pretty weird though

Just curious... Why would you think your HD would be hurt by just changing a gas hose...?? It won't hurt your bike.. if that's all you did..

yes, you could use a straw if it would hold. I was getting at how he may have cracked the original one.

You could damage the hose removing the original clamps..... which probaly happened.... another way would be be to tighten the hell out of the mini clamps....which tears them up as well..... lucky he noticed it.....

curious why you would take it to the stealer if you already fixed it with a new piece of gas line and hose clamps? I assume it leaked by the hose clamps thats why you had to repair it huh? You are talking about the crossover line right? mojo

The reason for me taking it back to the dealer is to ensure that the break was caused by me, or if it was caused by a mechanical failure.
