I haven't qute decided whether I like the mini apes on my bob yet so I tried out a bunch of different bars at the dealer today.I like the bars on the 883 R and they're quite comfy on the sportster but I don't think they'd be the same on the bob too much seat to bar distance. I also like the Road glide bars allot but they said they would not work on my bike.Couldn't tell me why just said they wouldn't work with thier nose buried in a parts book. I think the street bob probably has a bit more cable than the standard Dyna and Road king or Fat boy bars would fit. What do you all think?
You didn't say why you don't like the mini apes. If it is a looks thing then get different bars. If it is a reach factor, just losen them up and adjust them to whatever feels good. I brought mine back about 3 inches to fit my little short arms. Feels great now.
It's a comfort thing, there are days when I think they're the coolest thing there is and I don't have a problem with them. And other times when I think I'd be more comfortable with something lower and wider. They seem to be comfy up to about 70 after that they begin to be a pain.
I'm 6'2 have forward controls with xl pegs and tilted the bars forward 2x before I found the right fit. They are now about 2.5 inches forward from their original position. Now I just throw my legs on the pegs, stretch out and I couldn't be more comfortable unless I had a Miller Lite and a cup holder. Probably not a good idea though.

Definately post some pics if you change out your bars. The only bar changes I have seen on bobbers are bigger apes. Wait a minute... what the hell a I thinking!
The only reason I would think they wouldn't work is the cable length. I agree that you should try to move them around a bit before changing them. Apes are funny that way, you have to position them just right. Mine are also about 2 inches forward from the way the dealer had them.
