I've been using Briggs&Stratton stabilizer for years for bike, lawn mower, and snow thrower, although any good brand will do just as well.

I get it at local True Value in little packets that are measured for 2 gallons.

Started using it after my '72 Bonneville wouldn't run after winter layup. I used to drain tank and run bike until it stopped. Mechanic showed me carbs after he took them off. Gummed up with varnish over the years and the mechanic told me that enough gas is left to coat the workings of the carb to cause a problem over time.

Used stabilizer the last 10 years I had the Bonnie and it started up first kick every spring.

+1 on the stabil, in the spring I syphon the gas out (a couple of Gals.) put it in the OL's car, drive up to the gas station and get the fresh stuff. Park the bike on a couple of pieces of wood and jiffystand on a plastic puck. Battery on a tender, with fresh oil and filter.

I noticed no one has said anything about fogging oil so far. Am I the only one that sprays a little fogging oil in the spark plug holes in addition to the seafoam and the battery tender? I park on an old piece of carpet in my unheated garage and never have any problems in the spring. It gets very cold in my garage too, below zero degrees F some nights.

This was an interesting article, especially with mention of the plastic preventing moisture wicking and that raising the vehicle off it's wheels prevents premature wear on suspension components and bushings.

My first year I picked some at @ HD <their brand> and have used it twice through winter and she fires right up the second i touch the starter three-four months later. Some say you don.t even need it,but WTF for the 2$ worht it takes to add some! I never used any in my lawn mower and it fires right up too,and it's a sears craftsman 6.0 HP.
It's also gonna be my third winter storage coming up,never had it off the ground in winter and never felt any flatspots.

Stabil has worked for me in all the motors as stated in other posts. I was under the impression that Sea Foam is a great additive for cleaning the injectors. I put mine up on my jack and support the wheels with milk crates. I dont like to just let the wheels hang.

I use stabil in my tank too...never any issues!! I put my bike on a carpet in a heated bone dry garage. I also use a battery tender, but I use mine all year round. My last battery lasted 8 years. Fob batteries are a different story. They tend to only last a couple of years. I found that out the hard way last year.

Sea Foam. Tires on concrete in the garage. Battery Tender always in use. Still using original battery on my 03. I also add Sea Foam to the gas tank every couple of months and before long rides.

I used Sea Foam this year. Last year I didnt do anything other than fill with high test when I stopped riding in November and ran it for about 20 minutes in January then started riding in March. No problems. This year the bikes will each be sitting for over 7 months. Mine is sitting on the jack (since it does have brand new tires on it) and has half a can of sea foam in the tank. I left everything sitting out for my wife to put the other half a can in her tank next week before she leaves, plug in her battery tender and put the bike on carpet squares. She will also be gone for 8 months, but I'll get home in the spring so I will be able to take her bike out for a few rides so it isnt just sitting til August.
