Here's an idea, go to your local junk yard and find a VW Beetle. Cut the windshield off and strap that to the front of your bike. Since your already there, take the doors also, I believe you can get some door clamps from home depot, better use two clamps on each door, attach to the front frame and off you go 10,000 miles and no wind.
Dunno why people by Bobs and then throw a bunch of stuff on it. I saw one with a tall windshield, touring seat and touring sissy bar. Seems even if you didn't want a touring bike you would have just bought a Superglide and added stuff to it.
Is it possible to purchase a full fairing and get it to mount on to an 06 Dyna with the hardware from the HD detachable windshield kit for Dynas? I am facing a 4,000 mile trip on the Bob in about a month and want all the wind protection I can get.
......I think you would get the best protection from a Harley detachable, good luck. 4000 miles? Whew...
I bought a detachable for my Bob with the thought that it would be helpful when I ride to Sturgis next year. (1734 miles one way) A couple weeks ago I rode to Lake George for Americade & it was raining all week so I decided to try the windshield. I HATE IT! The wind didn't hit me straight on, but it came up under the windshield so bad that it felt like my helmet was being llifted off. My ears took a hell of a beating too. I won't use the windshield again unless I can find a way to stop the wind from coming up under it so bad.
I dunno guys. I think alot of you are reading too much in to the name "Street Bob". Other than some missing doodads and some black paint, it's just a freakin' Dyna. There's nothing Bobbish really about it. The whole "everything that isn't legally supposed to be on there has been taken off" thing is just factory hype. I mean, what real Bob has a charcoal cannister, a belt guard and reflectors on it? Seriously.
I bought the bike because I liked the denim black and the blacked out engine parts. That hardly makes it a bobber. It's just a very black Dyna.
I like most of you here and I'm not trying to start sh*t, but, cut the guy some slack, will ya? [8D]
