I had to sell my 07 FLHTC to pay some bills. But I had enough left over to pick up this 06 Street Bob with 6,000 miles on it. I'm very happy with my new scoot. It's a blast to ride the twisties out here in AZ. First investment is forward controls (any recommendations?). Then a little engine work..
I have a 09 bob. I found when I put forward controls on my bike the handling at speed around bends was very shaky. I was told I had changed the centre of ballance. I found this quiet noticable.
I have changed my bars to 10inc T bars.
The difference in handling and comfort is unbeleivable, it's a new bike.
Cheers

Thats a damn good start man! Bike looks really good! Love that color combination! Always have.. that seat is pretty dope too!
How tall are you? I had forwards on my bob but recently switched back to mids and the handling feels MUUUUUCH better. If you like the twisties, you might want to consider keeping the mids and just put some highway pegs on. You'll scrape much faster with the forwards.
